MMB US Parka Cold Weather ECWCS Water-Resistant Jacket
The ultimate bad-weather parka for extreme conditions. Sturdy, windproof, and water-repellent.This parka was made based on the ECWCS jacket used by the US Armed Forces. ECWCS (Extended Cold Weather Clothing System) is a multi-layered clothing system (layering principle) designed to adapt quickly to changing weather conditions. The US parka is the outer layer to protect against rain or wet snow. Various insulating layers, such as a fleece jacket (not included), can be worn underneath to protect against the cold. A warm inner lining was intentionally omitted so that the jacket can also be worn in warmer temperatures.
The parka is characterised by its distinctive Cobra Hood, which can be worn over a combat helmet; the protruding visor offers the face additional protection from the rain. It is fitted with adjustable nylon cords for a custom fit, as well as a fastening option for a fur trim (not included).
The full-length two-way zipper, with a wind flap and snaps, extends all the way to the face to provide protection in inclement weather. There is a tab with a press stud on the wind deflector for attaching badges.
Ventilation zippers under the armpits and ventilation openings in the upper back area of the inner lining ensure air circulation.
Raglan sleeves – a special cut in which the sleeves extend beyond the shoulders – prevent weak spots in the waterproofing.A patch pocket on the left sleeve with a hook & loop closure and flap, as well as double-reinforced elbows and adjustable cuffs with hook & loop closures, round out the rugged design.
At waist level, the inside is equipped with a snow and wind guard that can be adjusted using elastic drawstrings.
Two pockets in the lower front section, featuring extra-large flaps and a combination of a double hook & loop fastener and a single snap button, provide storage space and serve as hand warmers. In addition, there are two concealed map pockets near the front zipper that are secured with hook & loop and can be opened without having to unzip the parka itself.
